Painting Finishing Class

The most important skill an aspiring artist can learn is how to follow through and finish their painting; and in order to do this, they need to know when it is finished. This "finishing class" is designed to solve problems that developing artists often overlook or are unaware of. Through a hands-on approach, students will be given actionable, constructive criticism, and will learn how to subjectively view their own artwork as well as to communicate about others' art. Students will learn finishing techniques for acrylics and water-based oil media; the "how to's" on correcting a painting will be demonstrated; and the language and vocabulary of the art process will be taught. There will also be an optional field trip at the end of the course. The class will evolve depending upon the skill level and mediums of class participants.

Please bring the following with you:

- Your medium of choice, out of: acrylics, watercolors, and water-based oil paints

- Preferred brushes for your respective medium.
