Oak Group 30th Anniversary Exhibitions

The Oak Group celebrates its 30th Anniversary and honors co-founder Ray Strong in two exhibitions in Santa Barbara this July.

From July 6th through July 30th, works by members of the Oak Group will be featured at Sullivan Goss: An American Gallery.   The Gallery also celebrates the publication of Ray Strong, American Artist, an extensive biography of the man, the painter, and the muralist.    Honoring Ray Strong’s passion for teaching art, twenty-five percent of the proceeds from Oak Group sales will support Student Art Fund.  The S.A.F. is a volunteer organization providing art classes, supplies, and opportunities to area junior high and high school students.

The Sullivan Goss opening reception will be Thursday, July 7, from 5:00 – 8:00 pm as part of Santa Barbara’s First Thursday series.

From July 5th through July 29th, the Oak Group will also be exhibiting at Gallery 113, the Santa Barbara Art Association Members’ Gallery.  The Gallery was co-founded by Ray Strong in 1973.  35% of sales proceeds will support the Gallery in its legacy of grass roots art.

The Gallery 113 opening reception will be Friday, July 15 from 5:00 to 7:00.

Respected as one of the Country’s first groups of painters for preservation, the Oak Group is committed to protecting open lands for wildlife, recreation, ranching and farming.  Oak artists record the beauty of these endangered landscapes to draw public attention and to help generate funds to protect them.
